From supporting our outreach programs to funding advocacy activities, we want you to have a clear understanding of the positive impact your contributions make. Financial Transparency
Voice of Iran WA is committed to transparency and responsible stewardship of all funds entrusted to our organization. Below is an overview of current funding sources and how funds are being used.
Individual Donations
All funds received through individual donations are being used to support advocacy and community activities. These expenses include:
- Signs and protest materials
- Printing and outreach materials
- Food, tea, and water for volunteers during events and rallies
- Permits required for public events
- Rental of meeting spaces when necessary
Grant Funding – Mural Project
Voice of Iran WA was awarded the smART Grant ($1,000) to support the creation of a community mural. However, the grant funds are distributed only after the mural has been completed and installed, so these funds have not yet been received.
The mural project currently requires approximately $7,000 for materials.
Karla Mohtashemi has generously donated her time and creative expertise to design the mural and will continue donating her labor for the creation and installation once sufficient funds for materials have been secured and allocated to the project.
Corporate or Organizational Funding
As of March 2026, Voice of Iran WA has not received funding from corporations, foundations, or other organizations. Our activities have been supported primarily through individual donations and volunteer contributions.
Volunteer Contributions
Voice of Iran WA is a volunteer-driven organization. The majority of our work — including organizing rallies, coordinating community outreach, creating media and educational materials, and planning advocacy efforts — is carried out by dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time, skills, and expertise.
Many members of the leadership team and volunteers contribute professional services such as design, communications, event coordination, logistics, and education without compensation.
These volunteer contributions significantly reduce operational costs and allow the majority of financial donations to go directly toward advocacy efforts, community engagement, and public awareness initiatives.
We are deeply grateful to the many individuals who continue to give their time and energy in support of freedom, human rights, and the Iranian people.
Voice of Iran WA is a volunteer-led community organization. Board members and volunteers do not receive salaries for their work unless otherwise disclosed.
PAST FUNDRAISING PROJECTS
Subject: Celebrating the Success of our Fundraising Gala and Expressing Our Gratitude
On behalf of Voice of Iran, I am thrilled to share with you the incredible results and accomplishments that were made possible by your generous donation at our recent fundraising gala. Your steadfast support has truly made a difference, and we are immensely grateful for your contribution.
Our goal for the fundraising gala was to raise funds to $10,000. I am thrilled to inform you that, thanks to the collective efforts of our passionate donors and dedicated volunteers, together, we raised a total of $7400 in donations, which is a remarkable achievement.
(Expenses for the evening will come from the total).
Your contribution played a significant role in this success, and we cannot emphasize enough how grateful we are for your unwavering support. Your generosity will have a direct and lasting impact on amplifying the voice of the voiceless people in Iran who are fighting for their freedom and making our dream for our country happen.
I am pleased to share our plan for utilizing the funds raised during the gala. The proceeds will be allocated as follows:
- The first area of expenditure is multiple billboards in different parts of Seattle (static and digital) with high impressions for the duration of one month from Aug 15 to September 16th (Mahsa’s murder anniversary) to raise awareness about the ongoing fight of our people in Iran. We were able to get a good deal for multiple billboards, by shopping around. We were given a non-profit discount.
- In the meantime we are planning to start a “Woman Life freedom” 5K run, to involve more people and the media coverage to amplify the voice of people in Iran.
- Third plan will be arranging multiple murals in our city conveying the message of our revolutionary fight with the dictatorship of the Islamic Republic, and the assault on human rights abuses by the regime, which will be done with a grand opening and media coverage. Although this is currently beyond our budget, we will be working with building owners, Chamber of Commerce and local artists to make this a reality.
We are committed to ensuring complete transparency and accountability in the allocation of funds, and we will keep you updated on the progress and outcomes of the initiatives supported by your donation. Your trust and faith in our organization mean the world to us, and we want you to feel confident that your contribution is being utilized effectively to make a tangible difference.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support, which enables us to continue our vital work. We firmly believe that together, we can bring about positive change and create a brighter future for those in need. Your generosity and commitment to our cause inspire us to strive for excellence every day.
If you have any questions, require further information, or would like to get involved in our future endeavors, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would be delighted to discuss our initiatives and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Thank you again for your invaluable contribution. We look forward to keeping you updated on the impact of your generosity.
With profound gratitude,

Statement from Voice of Iran WA about Iran / Israel conflict
War is horrific. The loss , the fear, the destruction ,it tears trough hearts. But in the midst of grief, one truth must be clear: this is not Iran’s war – it is the Islamic Republic’s.
For 46 years, this regime has fueled destruction in our name. It has spread terror, waged proxy wars, and called for the annihilation of Israel , not to protect Iran, but to protect itself. We have no border with Israel, no quarrel with its people.
This is Khamenei’s war, born of fear, delusion, and a need to cling to power. And when the missiles fall, he hides. No shelters. No warnings. No protection for the people — only sacrifice.
Let it be said with no hesitation: THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC IS NOT IRAN.
Iran is a nation rooted in dignity and history , a people who once, under Cyrus the Great, gave refuge and freedom to the Jewish people. That legacy of humanity still lives in our hearts.
This regime does not speak for us. It never has. This war must end , and it must end with the fall of the Islamic Republic. Now, at this critical moment, we need leadership. Reza Pahlavi has stepped forward with courage and clarity. He does not ask for power. He accepts responsibility. We don’t have time to debate what’s already clear. If some still don’t see it, they never will.
The future of Iran belongs to those inside the country , through their vote. But for now, we know where we stand.
To our people inside Iran , our brothers and sisters: We hear your pain. We carry it with us. Your suffering is real, and it breaks us every day. But we must stay strong. All of us — inside and outside , must endure this darkness together. Because we know what must be done.
There is no going back. This regime must fall. And it will.
